This record group consists of the record of bounty to volunteers in the Michigan militia during the Civil War (1863-65). Consists of a list of recruits who volunteered in Michigan regiments and batteries from March 6, 1863, and who received bounty payments. One volume lists only volunteers in the First Sharpshooters, First Engineers & Mechanics, and First Light Artillery. Information includes date of payment, name of recruit, age, regiment served, number of voucher, residence and amount of bounty paid.
